N.Z. Naval O cers—Lieutenants C. A. Woods, R.N.Z.N.V.R., of Auckland, and O. F. A. Poole, R.N.Z.N.VJR., ofAucHlai.d, who formerly were serving op an armed merchant cruiser, have arrived in England They were in the cruiser when a large Japanese submarine fired shells at her without damage in January, 1942. The cruiser also carried out patrols in the Indian and Paoifie Oceans and helped to land Americans for the a c sault on Guadalcanar.-*London. June 12.
