RUSSLEY CLUB The annual tournament of the Russley Golf Club was concluded yesterday with a 36-hole scratch competition. Results were as follows:—A grade: I. B. Cromb. 77, 76—153: D. Swift, 87, 81—168; N. S Bowie, 82, 87—169. B grade: T. de la Mare, 89. 94—183; H. L. Blamires, 92. 93 185; A. B Cottee, 91. 97—188. Johnston (7), 1 down; J. Spence and E. R. B. Harding (11). 1 down. The best scores in the Pearce Memorial Cup (mixed four-ball) competition were: Mrs A, W. Parrott (20) and R. M Monteath (9). 4 up; G K. McAllum and Mrs McAllum (7-12), 2 up; Miss Cotton (12) and P. G. Greenwood (7). 1 up; Miss E. Stewart and F. C. Wade (18), 1 up. CHRISTCHURCH CLUB A Canadian foursome played by members of the Christchurch Golf Club at Shirley yesterday resulted in a tie Results were:—E. J. Humphrey and F S Taylor. 2 down; R. M. Adams and H. R T Spanjer, 2 down; H. N. F. Burry and D E, Miller, 2 down. Best cards returned in a bogey match were: E. J. Pumphrey, all square; F. S Taylor, O. A. Y. Johnston, D. H. Butcher. 2 down. AVONDALE CLUB A mixed Canadian foursome played at Avondale yesterday was won by M. Atkinson and Miss B. Blair, 79, 10—69. The runners-up were P. Barber and Miss Brittan, 88, 14—74. In the second round of the Scales Cup competition P. Large and Mrs Large beat Hastings and Mrs Hastings. 2 up and 1; F. W Walter and Miss Moore beat W T. Bottrell and Mrs McNish at the nineteenth: M. Atkinson and Miss B Blair beat C. H. Elsom and Mrs Gunn 4 and 3; A. L. Craven and Miss O Knight beat F. W. Deighton and Mrs Chatfleld, 3 and 1. In the second round of the Lewis trophy match, N. B. Edwards and Miss Macdonald beat S. H. Thomas and Miss Sapsford by default: E. S. Forne and Miss Sagar beat W. Dickey and Miss Hine at the nineteenth; F. A. Smith and Miss N Gillespie beat J. Carter and Mrs Brennan 3 and 2; C. C. A. Barnard and Mrs Goulding beat W. H. Meyers and Miss Donaldson, 4 and 3. RICHMOND HILL CLUB Results of a stroke handicap played at Richmond Hill Golf Club during the week-end were:—F. O. Strong, 77. 13—64; L. J. Treleaven. 81, 11—70; D. E. Climie, 91. 20—71; D. B. WAIMAIRI BEACH CLUB A paired aggregate match was played by members of the Waimalrl Beach Goll Club over the week-end. Best cards were as follows;—S. Morris and D. Arnott. 75, 77—152; H. W. Walker and Miss D Boundy, 78, 79 —155; J. McNamee and Miss D. Harrison. 79, 78—157. RAWHITI CLUB In a flag match played by members of the Rawhiti Golf Club over the week-end. J R Davis (seniors) completed his round on the nineteenth fairway, and J. R Sprosten (juniors) carried the flag to the nineteenth green. WAIMAIRI BEACH LADIES’ CLUB A Ladies' Golf Union match and the first round of the captain’s trophy competition, played by the Walmairi Beach Ladies' Golf Club, resulted in a tie between Mrs McGavock, 92, 20—72, and Miss J Simpson, 105, 33—72. Mrs McGavock won on the count back. RAWHITI LADIES’ CLUB A Ladles’ Golf Union match payed by the Rawhiti Ladles’ Club in conjunction with a stroke match, resulted as follows: —A grade: Mrs J. W. Lovell, 85. 13— 72- Miss N. Hartley, 91, 19—72; Mrs Palmer, 99, 23—76. B grade: Miss Duncan, 104, 33—701 Miss Lomas, 106, 26—79.
