MENTION IN DISPATCHES
* (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 4. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) has been advised that His Majesty the King has approved of the mention in dispatches of Able Seaman R. F. Thom. R.N.Z.N.V.R.. for good service with an in-shore squadron working on the reopening of desert ports after the battle of Alamein. Them's father is Mr J. A. Thom, of Mount Albert, Auckland.
