CHRISTCHURCH CLUB’S EXHIBITION There was a larger number of entries than for several years for the .seventysixth annual show of . the Christchurch Poultry, Plfeon, and Canary Club, which opened yesterday at the Fanciers’ Hall and wlir contihue and to-morrow. The quality of. exhibits was good. The poultry and bantam sections were outstanding In the number of entries received and were also up to standard in quality. Entries for Norwich canaries were larger than In the past, but there were fewer entries of budgerigars. The following New Zealand championships given by the South Island Poultry Association were awarded:—Hamburg, standard class, L. Skilling; Buff or Cinnamon Orpington, standard. M. W. Hawkins; Ancona, standard, A. J. Tate; Brown Leghorn, utility, J. D. Gobbe; Modern Game, bantam, W. H. Turvey; any other variety, bantam. J. D. Gobbe; self tumbler pigeon, CJj.L.F., C. M. Walden; fantall pigeon, G. Lewis; Modena pigeon, C. M, Walden; frill pigeon. C. M. Walden; Nun or Jacobin pigeon, J. Nancarrow. Flying Homer, flown 275 miles or over, L Shields-Howmah; cinnamon or green Norwich canary, unflighted, W. Crombie; yellow Norwich, n.c.f., open class, D. Halvey; white wing budgerigar, any suffusion, L. M. Brain. Results of South Island Poultry. Pigeon, and Canary Association’s championships were as follows; White Plymouth Rock, standard class. J. Calvert; Brown Leghorn, standard class. B. J. Cook; White Leghorn, male, utility, C. Bartley; Khaki Campbell drake or duck, utility, J. Calvert; old English partridge or wheaten game bantam, female, R. Keats; Modena pigeon, C. M. Walden; frill pigeon, C. M. Walden: Plying Homer hen, flown 275 miles or over, L. Shields-Howman; cinnamon or green Norwich canary, open class, W. M. Shand; mule canary, D. Halvey; green or olive budgerigar, L, M. Brain.
