COMPANY DIRECTOR’S SUICIDE
VERDICT AT INQUEST

LONDON, September 29,
It was revealed at an inquest that Major-General Guy Dawnay, C.8., C.M.G., D.5.0., M.V.0., committed suicide by means, of gas at his home on September 27. The Coroner found that his action was the result of insomnia, seemingly caused by pressure of work. Major-General Dawnay was a director of many companies, including several insurance firms, Financial Newspaper Proprietors, Ltd., the Economist, Ltd., and Army and Navy Stores, Ltd. He had served in the Great War and the Boer War.
