HEALTH STAMPS
VESTIBULE SALES COMMITTEE Mrs W. F. Kent-Johnston presided at a meeting of the Health Stamp Vestibule Sales Committee. There were representatives of 37 women's organisations present, and tht Mayoress also attended. Mrs Kent-Johnston expressed pleasure at the interest shown which augured well for the success of the 1938 campaign. She reported Lriefly on last year's work and read a letter from the Chief Postmaster thanking the committee for its services last year and giving a statement Appreciation was expressed of the help which Mr H. W. Hunter had given to the committee, and regret was expressed that he felt it necessary to resign. A letter of appreciation and thanks will be sent to Mr Hunter, ' > whom the committee felt it Owed a debt of gratitude. It was decided to ask Mr F. W. Furby to represent the local area committee on the district executive of the Federation of Health Camps, in place of Mr Hunter. The election of officers resulted as follows:—-Chairwoman," Mrs W. F. KentJohnston (re-elected unanimously) ; vestibule sales secretary, Miss Joan Tod, to whom a vote of thanks was passed for past services; minute and correspondence secretary, Miss F. L. Cooper. The Mayoress (Mrs R. M. Macfarlane), who presided during the election of the chairwoman, eulogised Mrs Kent-Johnston's work for the committee. Arrangements were made for each organisation represented to take charge of the vestibule sales table once a month. Mrs Kent-John ton stated thai the sale of stamps would commence on Saturday, and she appealed for the support of the public. It was reported that the first day covers, the proceeds of which are for the Christchurch Sunlight League's funds, are now on sale.
