ARE WE PREPARED?
TO THE EDITOR OP THE PBBSS. Sir, —We hear much of defence, but so far I have seen no indication that New Zealand has any stocks of gas masks. If war comes a raid on these shores will be accompanied by the use of gas. A pronouncement by the authorities on this matter would be welcome.—Yours, etc., PRUDENCE. September 27. 19.38. [When this letter was referred to Colonel P. H. Bell, Officer Commanding the Southern Military Forces, he said that as far as his district was concerned a number of gas masks were available for training.]
