♦ ■ CHRISTCHURCH CLUB'S CLAY PIGEON EVENT SEASON AGGREGATE WON BY H. GRENNELL

The annual clay pigeon championship (the final match for the aggregate covering the three club championships) was fired bymembers of the Christchurch Gun Club on the club grounds at Sockburn on Saturday afternoon. The weather was satisfactory, and there was a good attendance of shooters and visitors. The championship conditions were 17 birds off 1G yards, and the event drew an entry of 19 shooters.

H. Grennell 'had a straight-out win, with the possible,, for the third year in succession, with A. N. Turner and J. Simpson one off. The winner will hold the championship cup (presented by Messrs W. R. Heney and E. Hammond in 1920) for one year. In addition, he received a trophy order of three guineas and took first prize money in an optional sweep held in connexion with the match. The runners-up divided a trophy order of one guinea, and A. N. Turner took second prize money in the optional sweep. Following are the best scores:—H. Grennell 17, A. N. Turner 16, J. Simpson 16, D. Doreen 15, W. R. Heney 15, A. J. Cooper 15, J. Brightling 14, C. R. Ogier 13, F. Truscott 13. The aggregate for the season over the three championships was won by H. Grennell, who received a trophy order for £3 3s, and will hold the Ashby Bergh aggregate cup (presented in 1919) for one year. H. Grennell has won the 16 yards championship on three occasions and the aggregate on six occasions. .„ Two American sweeps of 10 birds each off 16 yards were held at the conclusion of the championship event. In the first sweep, H. Grennell, D. Doreen, J. Brightling, W. J. Thwaites, and J. Donnelly each shot the possible and divided the whole of the prize money. In the second sweep, H. Grennell and J. Donnelly shot the possible and divided first and second prize money. A. N. Turner, D. Doreen, and W. J. Thwaites were one off.
