CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
* ST. ANDREW’S COLLEGE ,EVENT The annual cross-country run for boys of St. Andrew’s College was held under ideal conditions yesterday afternoon. Times were considerably better than for some years, the junior performances being particularly good. The winning competitor in this section covered the course in 22min llsec, which is only Xlsec outside the record. Following are results;— Senior Fast Pack—C. A. Watson 1, N. Ackroyd 2, J. A. Parsons 3. Time, 29min Msec. Senior Slow Pack (Handicap)—G. Black (imin) 1, M. Annand (imin) 2, J. Sutherland (imin) 3. Junior Pack—A. Thompson 1, D. N. Campion 2, T. C. Carleton 3. Time, 22min llsec. House points were;—Erwin 9.33, Thompson 7.8, Rutherford 6.76, Strowan- 5.9. WEST’ HIGH SCHOOL BOYS Cross-country runs for the boys of the Christchurch West High School were held yesterday on courses round South Hagley Park. Results were;— Open—N. T. White 1. D. Topp 2, G. •Tait 3. Time. 13mln 16sec. Under 16— W. Dorreen 1, J. Leith 2, ! M. Hegan 3. Time, 13min 9sec. Under 15— R. Crimp 1, E, Cumberpatch 2, I. McOscar 3. Time, 14min 7 2-ssec. Intermediate Department—M. Boswell 1, R. Scott 2, L. Murfitt 3. Results of the house competition based on these events were:—Chilton, 326 points, l; Foster, 259 points, 2; Waller, 252 points. 3; Hardie, 239 points, A.
