After some’disciissibh, it was agreed-to leave,the. matter to. the grpunds committee, . which will, place concrete proposals on the proposal before the board. ' ‘ ,yDr. W. McKay said that the applicant was ■ not- concerned. with running the- rink for a-, profit. ■ - However, if the. rink . proved a lucrative investment after a few years he did not think that ’the proprietor would object to “sharing the gold” with the Park Board. ■ Mr G. G. Lockwood said that the board-had 'been-pressed for’a'number ot years to try an experiment with a skating,rink, „and r he .thought that'-the applicant should be given every Encouragement. - . He: believed, however, ;that the board should take: steps,' to safeguard the bush near the intended Site..bf ; the skating rink from destruction; ! The chairman (Mr N.‘ C.
