LONDON MARKET MORE CHEERFUL
LOCAL PRICES WELL MAINTAINED
The London stock markets are reported to be more cheerful. All groups have recovered appreciably except Czech and Hungarian stocks. The Berlin Bourse is firm, an indication of confidence that a peaceful solution will be found.
Sydney investors continue to be cautious. Except Broken Hill stocks, which were firmer, the trend of yesterday’s prices was downward. The Melbourne market opened firmer but was inclined to ease at the close.
The Christchurch Exchange was again dull and quiet yesterday. The turnover was restricted to six stocks. Price levels generally were well maintained and several stocks firmed.
