RACECOURSE AMENITIES
.to tn editor or thr press. Sir,—The report in “The Press” on the Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting shows how selfish members can become. Many thousands of people attend the race meetings: yet 600 members want the appointments all for themselves, including the cocktail bar, lounge, and stand. . „ , I think it is now high time that the public was considered by the Canterbury Jockey Club, and decent bars put in stands where patrons can have a drink in comfort without jostling one another in a dark corner of _ the luncheon room. Also, extra provision should be made for motor-cars leaving the racecourse, as the present arrangements are years out of date. This! also applies to the Trotting Club at Addington.—Yours, etc., LOOK AHEAD.
