CONSECRATION OF COLOURS
EX-ROYAL NAVAL MEN’S ASSOCIATION
SERVICE AT CATHEDRAL
The consecration of the colours of the Ex-Royal Naval Men’s Association will be performed at the Cathedral on Saturday, and various naval and military units will take part in, a parade before the service at 9.45 a.m. The parade will move oft from Moorhouse avenue* - opposite the railway station.
The parade will be led by the band of H.M.S. Achilles, with other units in the following order:—Detachment from H.M.S. Achilles, Ex-Royal Naval Men’s Association, Veterans’ Association Old Contemptibles’ Association, Returned Soldiers’ Association, band of the First Canterbury Regiment, detachment of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, detachment of the Territorial . Reserve, detachment of the Legion of Frontiersmen, detachment of Naval Sea Scouts.
During the, service hymns will be played by the band of the Canterbury Regiment. An inspection of. the ExRoyal Naval Men’s Association will be made after the service by the Commodore of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. This will be followed by the placing of a wreath on the war memorial and the sounding of “Last Post’’ and “Reveille.”
