■ (PKKSS 4SSOCIATIOM TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, September 19. When an application by the Wellington Soap and "Candle Workers' Union for a new district award came before Mr M.J. Reardqn. Conciliation Commissioner, to-day, an objection was lodged -by the employers who stated that they were .desirous of. securing a Dominion award. It was decided eventually to proceed with the. claims and counterclaims with the proviso that if a Dominion award could be"secured the local dispute would be withdrawn, but that failing agreement on,a Dominionbasis the matters in dispute would be referred to.the Court of Arbitration or back to the Conciliation. Council.. .■: On the dispute being proceeded with agreement was reached on several machinery clauses, but wages and hours of. work.were, referred to .the Court. ■-. .
