OBITUARY
MR W. H. HARRIS
The death of Mr William Henry Harris occurred recently at the Little - Company of Mary Hospital. Mr Harris, who' was 69 years of age, was managing director of W- H.Harris, Tmsmiths, Ltd., Which business he’ founded in 1880. He : married: Miss - Florence Chapman in 1893, and is survived by his widow, four sons, Messrs R. P. Harris, L.- W. Harris, N. Harris; and C. Harris and one daughter, Mrs C. J. L. McCree. all of Christchurch Mr Harris was actively engaged in the social life of the city, being a. member of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge for many years, a member, of the Canterbury Jockey' Club; the New Zealand. Metropolitan Trotting Club.’ and the Sydenham Bowling Club; of which he was president in 1924. and 1925. ’ * /. ;• f "
, The funeral-was held at the Bromley cemetery, the service being conducted by the Rev. H. L. Fiebig, assisted by the Worshipful Master and brethren' of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge., The bearers were Messrs F. L. Booth, A. W. CousensT C. E. Anderson, and W. A. Britten. ' ' MR T. TOMLINSON The death occurred of Mr Thomas Tomlinson, Fendalton, who was for many years chief inspector for the Christchurch Drainage Board. After his retirement from this position he became farm inspector for the Church Property 'Trustees and for Christ’s College, but because of illhealth he retired from these positions a year ago. Seventy-six years old, Mr Tomlinson was bom in Bngi«n<*, and came out to New Zealand as a ' young man. Ms Tomlinson was a keen croquet Player, and played for the United Club for many years. He' is survived by his wife. '
