OKUKU BRANCH A decision to hold a garden party tc celebrate the first birthday of tht Okuku branch of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Unior was made at a meeting of the brand Competitions resulted as follows: Large bloom: Mrs McCracken 1, Mrs D Warren 2. Mrs E. Ensor 3. Small bloom Mrs G. Croft 1. Miss M. Ensor 2, Mrs D. Warren 3. Jar of blossom: Mrs Hutcheson 1. Mrs McCracken 2, Mrs .E Ensor 3. Article from tin: Mrs O Halloran 1, Mrs Mehrtens 2, Mrs Croft 3 BELFAST BRANCH Mrs Morton presided ; at the monthly meeting of the Belfast branch of the Women’s Division of the -Farmers Union. The roll call was “A Christ mas gift for the lepers at Makogai. ’ A competition for the best-bloom wai won by Mrs- J; Crawford and Miss Mor ton (equal). Another competition fo: a sponge sandwich made without but ter or filling resulted: Mrs Arnold ; and Mrs Harris 2. . The hostesses were Miss Morton anc Mrs C. Clarke. LYNDON-WAIAU BRANCH The September meeting of the Lyn don-Waiau branch of the Women’s Di vision of the New. Zealand Farmers Union took the form : of a bnng-anfi buy sale to raise money for brand funds. . , ■ , Stallholders were:—Produce, Mes dames T. H. Belton arid J. Maker cakes and sweets, Mesdames,S. Lowe and Johnstone; variety, Mrs Clark anc Mrs Mannion; soldiers’ articles, Mri Derrett and MissF. Heaven; .afternoon tea, Mesdames Powis i and - Smale. and Miss A; Derrett. OXFORD BRANCH Mrs P. K. Thompson the September meeting of the Oxford branch of the ' Women s Division of the New Zealand Farmers Union. Mrs McCree, of Christchurch, gave a display and talk, on the making of leather handbags and toys. . - The competition results were as foilows:—Bloom, large: Mrs I. Mehrtens I; Mrs M. H. Ward presided at the September meeting of the FernsideSpringbank branch of' the Womens Division of the Farmers’ Union held at '‘Lowland- Leas,” the home of Mrs F. Dawson. ' ,' . GREENPARK BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Greenpark branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held recently, with Mrs Leonard Dulieu presiding. * .. . The roll call was “Suggestions for improving the meeting.” Mrs Vickers, of the St. John Ambulance, gave an, interesting lecture and demonstration on first aid. _ Competitions, which were judged by Mrs Vickers, Mrs Ablett, and Miss Kimbef, resulted as follows: —Coconut ice, Mrs Leonard Dulieu 1, Mrs Bearman2, Mrs K. Dulieu 3; bowl of spring flowers, Mrs Leonard Dulieu 1, Mrs Leslie Dulieu 2, Mrs Ken Dulieu 3; hand-quilted cushion, Mrs Bearman 1, Mrs Leonard Dulieu 2.
