FUNERAL

The funeral of Mr Arthur Llewellyn Barker, who died at his residence, "Wainui," Winchester, on Wednesday, took place at the Barbadoes street cemetery yesterday .' "ternoon. Mr Barker was the last surviving passenger to New Zealand by the Charlotte Jane, one of the First Four Ships, A service at Winchester was conducted by Canon A. H. Norris, and at the graveside in Christchurch Bishop West-Watson and the Rev.. O. FitzGerald • conducted the service. The bearers at Winchester were Messrs W. E. Barker, N. G. Barker, J. S. Barker, G. P. Chapman. L. P. Chapman, and E. W. Palmer, and those at the graveside were-Messrs W, E. Barker, N. G. Barker, H. G. Helmore. C. E. Barker, G: E. Gray, and L. P. Chapman. Among those at the funeral were reof the Canterbury Pilgrims' and Early Settlers' Association. Wreaths included tributes-from the Pilgrims' Association and the Geraldme Racing Club. .* *
