MINOR OUTBREAKS OF FIRE

The Central Fire Brigade was called to four minor outbreaks of fire last evening. Very little damage was done in each case. A kapoc mattress caught fire in a detached wooden shed on premises at 151 Salisbury street, owned by Mr J. M. Liston. There was an outbreak in somegorse on a vacant section in Petrie street, Shirley, at 8.12 p.m.. and fire also broke out in some bushes in the garden of Mr W. Harrison's property at 21 Marlborough ntrcet at 11.30 p.m. The last call, at 12.10 a.m.. was to a fire in a macrocarpa hedge on the property of Mr E. W. Clarkson, 40 Wellington street Linwood.
