Golfing partners for seven years, Brigadier-General A. C. Critchley, D.5.0., C.M.G., managing director and vice-chairman of the Greyhound Racing Association, and formerly member of Parliament for Twickenham, and Miss Diana Fishwick, the woman golfer, who has been British champion twice, were married at the British Consulate in Paris this week. After failing in the Open at Sandwich last month. General Critchley dashed off to Holland, played in the Dutch amateur championship the next day, and won it. He also holds the Surrey and Belgian championships. Big boxing and international athletics also claim his interest. In the war, Brigadier-General Critchley, at the age of 27, was the youngest general. • ... , Miss Fishwick became British woman champion by defeating Miss Glenna Collett (now Mrs Vare), American champion, at Formby eight years ago. She has since represented England in numerous international matches, and has won many minor championships. Miss Fishwick became known all over the world as “Diana of the Links” when she won the British women’s championship at the age of 19. . Brigadier-General and Mrs Critchley have gone to the United States to spend part of their honeymoon competing for American golf championships. General Critchley has been twice previously married. Aged 48, “Critch," as he is known to his friends, is the man who put greyhound racing on the map in England.

Mrs Stanley Harris and Mrs Gordon Burgess were the organisers of a very pleasant and successful bridge party held in two private reception rooms at Ballantynes yesterday afterr noon. The party was in aid of the funds of a stall, which will be in charge of Mrs Harris and Mrs Burgess at the forthcoming spring fair to 'be held in the interests of the Christchurch Harmonic Society. .Mrs Alfred Sandston, as hostess, welcomed the guests, amongst whom were Mesdames S.
