; The -following is the; text of. a telegram received by' “The Press” at Ashburton yesterday from Mr H. : E. Herring, M.P.: — “Lincoln College has secured a; grant of £.35,000 for new building* and renovations. This should be of interest to Ashburton County farmers, especially those suffering sheep - losses; in-view of the research work 1 being undertaken by the college ■ staff.” - , ■ : Intimation,-of.Ah«, grant (which; is - provided for in the Supplement- >, afy -Estirfaates; 'introduced yesterday V ’in the House of Representatives) was f redeived :recently from t the Govern-:-'; merit byAhe Board of Governors, but;. an ' was deferred v. pending 'an official release.
