BOWLING AND SOCIAL CLUB

The newly-formed New Zealand Breweries’ Bowling and Social Club held its inaugural social at the Veterans’ Hall on Wednesday evening, when 60 members and friends attended. Items were given by Messrs George Titchener, B. Spicer, J. Smith, R. Reddick, W. West, J. Bradshaw, F. Pepper, and the Ripley Band. Mr A. Dawson (vice-president) was chairman, and proposed the toasts of “The King, ,r “The Patron,” “The Club,” and “Artists.” Mr A. Mitchell proposed the toast of “The Presideht," this being, responded to by Mr A. R. O’Malley for Mr Duncan, who was absent. The speakers, Messrs Pepper, R. Shaw, P. Munn, and Porter, all commended the club on the manner in which it was uniting the members from the various branches. .
