MOTOR-VESSEL KAPITI FOR SALE

The well-known coastal vessel Kapiti is to be sold by public auction by Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington on Wednesday. September 28. The Kapiti was built by J. Fullerton and Company. Paisley, in 1902, and was lengthened 19.4 feet in 1906 to 55ft 4in. In October. 1930, she was thoroughly overhauled, and a new engme-b@d built and a new set of five-cylinder Diesel engines by Gardiner installed. . The engines are 250 b.h.p. at 290 r.p.m. The'vessel was rewired for lighting at tune of overhaul, and lighting and heating points fitted throughout. - Two - 300 candle-power lights are fitted for work-, ing cargo at night. The Kapiti is insulated and will carry g7OO boxes of butter or 2250 crates of cheese. She, has a speed of between 8 and 9 knots according to trim.
