PLEASANT POINT CLUB MEETS
The annual meeting of .the Pleasant Point Yacht Club was held last evening, Mr E. Rountree presiding. It was reported that there were 34 members. The income was £2B 10s 7d, including £8 received from the South Brighton gala and £2 5s Id brought forward. ;The expenditure amounted-do £l2;3s Bd, including two years’ rent to the Marine Department (one being in advance). The assets, "after allowing 10 per cent, depreciation bn the club-house instead of the usual S per cent., amounted to £ll7 12s 7d. The following officers .were elected:— President, Mr A. F. Stacey: vice-presi-dents, Mr E. L. Smith ' (Mayor of New 'Brighton). .Captain A. W. Owles, Messrs S. J.. Gramme’, J. E. Ainsworth, and T. C. Tyson; commodore, Mr E. Rountree; vicecommodore, Mr J. Knight: secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Mawson; auditors, Messrs A. E. Tyson and S. Christensen: com- ' mittee, Messrs R. Scott, B. Christensen.I. Macintosh, R. A. Robson. A. E. Tyson (the committee to* elect one additional -*■ member); delegates to Canterbury Sailing Boat Association, Messrs J. Mawson and F. Rountree; delegates to Canterbury Regatta- Committee, - Messrs Mawson and Rountree. ■ Before junior members’ races the crews will be instructed in the finer points of sailing, and in the strict interpretation - of the rules, . Opening day was fixed for November 6.
