MR BRAY’S ECONOMICS
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —Your correspondent, Mr E. J. Freeman, states that the views on finance held by Mr W. B. Bray,’ are “fantastic.” It is (remotely) possible this may bo so. but on the other hand, it is quite certain that as an authority on finance, both orthodox and unorthodox, Mr W. B. Bray has few equals. Mr Bray has had both English and Colonial experience in banking. In addition, more than half his life has been devoted to an intensive study of finance. Even so, (it is remotely possible) he may be incorrect in the views'he holds. The subject of “finance” is the burning question of the day, and is of vital importance to all peoples. In New Zealand alone many thousands hold the same views as Mr Bray and Mr Freeman makes the positive statement that these views are .“fantastic.” Would Mr Freeman be kind enough to show us where we are astray? This is a serious and earnest request, for no body of individuals wish to be correct on the subject of finance more than Mr Bray and .those who hold similar views.
I would suggest that Mr Freeman challenge Mr Bray to a public debate and he (Mr Freeman) would then have an opportunity of correcting our “fantastic” views and at the same time rendering the greatest service to humanity—a service which, in view of the tragic financial condition existing throughout the world,, none should neglect.—Yours, etc., NATIONAL CREDIT.
