DUMPS AT NORTH BEACH
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —I notice- In your report to-day of the proceedings of the New Brighton Borough Council you state that a letter was received from the North Beach Progress League requesting the council to discontinue the use of a reserve at North Beach for a nightsoil dump. This should have read the Waimairi Progress League. My league has repeatedly urged upon previous councils the depositing of the borough nightsoil elsewhere: but. should the Noith Beach Progress League wish actively to associate itself with the present agitation, my league will be only too happv fully to co-operate with it A impressing upon the council that residents in the vicinity feel they have a very real grievance which should be removed without any further loss of time. —Yours, etc., P. E. L. BROAD, President, Waimairi Beach Progress League. September 13, 1938.
