JERSEY SHOW AND SALE

MOST SUCCESSFUL FOR SOME YEARS AVERAGE PRICE OF 4.5 GUINEAS i (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) HAMILTON, September 14. The annual national Jersey byll sale held to-day was the most successful for some years, the 115 bulls averaging a Utile more than 43 guineas. The sale was conducted by Wright. Stephenson and Company, and attracted a record bench of buyers. The top price of 142 i guineas was paid for Oxford Golden Baron, sold on account of Mr Truby King. New Plymouth, to Mr W. J. Chynoweth, Waikato. Another bull offered by the same vendor was purchased by Mr K. Bennett, Papamoa, at 115 guineas. Mr E. Hoffman, 'Katlkati, purchased Ivondale Waifs Hero from Mr J. Haskins, Gisborne, at 105 guineas.

Most of the bulls sold above 40 guineas. 14 above 70 guineas and sjeven above 100 guineas. In the show conducted with the sale, the championship winner in the two-year-old class was Beaulieu Gale (Coronations Cld—Beachlands Queen Mab). shown by a northern breeder, Dr. George Walker, of Whangarel. Secondary honours In this division were secured by Mr Truby King (New Plymouth), with Star Standard Wayfarer (Brampton Star Standard—Marshlands Butterfly). The national yearling champion and reserve grand champion was Oxford Golden Baron (Baron Rupert—Oxford Golden Rainbow), shown by Mr Truby King. Reserve honours were won by Tuhltarata Lordship (Heatherlea Treasurer —Tuhitarata Ladybird), the property of a Masterton breeder. Mr J. Jameson. Senior chompionship and grand championship were awarded to the four-year-old bull, Ivondale Waifs Hero (Ivondale Rainbow You’ll Do —Riverdale Waif), shown by Mr J. Haskins, of Gisborne. Reserve senior champion award went to a Levin breeder, Mr P. A. Anderson, with Jersey Meadows Maestro (Jersey Meadows Raleigh—Jersey Meadows Aurela),
