WOODEND-WAIKUKU CLUB MEETS The annual meeting of the Wood-end-Waikuku Croquet Club was held recently. Mrs J .Crawford presided. The financial statement showed a credit balance. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes; president, Mrs Crawford; vice-presi-dents, Messrs G. and J. Little, G. Gibling, F. McQuillan, W. Percy, md James; secretary, Mrs F. C. Chinnery; treasurer, Miss Burnet; trustees, Miss Bui'nct and Mrs J. Southen; club captain, Mrs C. Bourne; vice-captain, Mrs H. Robertshaw; committee, Mesdamcs J. Durie, A. Williams, R. Smith, G. Gibling, J. Southern, J. Scott, D. Thorn, F. McQuillan; handicappcrs, Mesdames Bourne, Gardner, and Robertshavi; green-keeper, Mr Coles. WOODEND CRICKET CLUB SUCCESSFUL SEASON REROUTED The annual meeting of the Woodend Cricket Club was held recently. Mr J. H. Ballinger presided. The annual report showed last season to have been very successful from every point of view, the senior team having won the championship for the second year in succession. v

The treasurer’s report showed a credit balance.

Ballinger, and J. Scott; selection committee, Mr C. Bourne and the captains of the teams; delegates to association, Messrs H. Little and A. Smith. It was decided that one senior and one junior team be entered in the competitions.

WOODEND LADIES’ GUILD SOCIAL

The Woodend Methodist Ladies’ Guild arranged a very enjoyable social recently. There was a good attendance, and novel games and competitions were held. Elocutionary items were given by Miss Ina Bowman, of Riccarton. Competition winners were Mrs A. Smith and Mr R. Little.
