PRAYERS FOR PEACE
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —In this morning’s issue of “The Press” I see that Archbishop Averill has requested that prayers be offered in all churches for peace and goodwill, also for Divine guidance for rulers and nations in this time of strife. For the benefit of your • readers, I should be obliged if you would publish the following information. A certain religious body in Christchurch has issued prayers for kings, rulers, and statesmen, universal peace, and for soldiers of all nations. These prayers have been-offered three times weekly, earnestly and sincerely, for the last three months. They were composed by a Christchurch woman, whose students are praying for world peace. I am enclosing these prayers for you to see, and if any of your readers are interested enough, you have my permission to show them the leaflet enclosed, and also to give the name and. address of the teacher. —Yours, etc., SCIENCE. September 9, 1938.
