ELECTORAL ROLL
formal amending and SIGNING SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL A special meeting of the Christchurch City Council, lasting for three minutes, was held yesterday afternoon for the amending, and signing of the district electors' roll of the city of Christchurch. This formal business was transacted in accordance with the provisions and regulations of The Municipal Corporations Act, JSUi. which requires a meeting of the council at which every error should be corrected and the alterations initialled by the Mayor. The list must then be authenticated by being certified as correct by the Mayor and two counThe Town Clerk, Mr J. S. Neville, reported that the list had been duly open for inspection, and that there had been no- objections to it. Lists of names not continued on the roll because of the death of the persons named, and of those who had lost their qualifications because "they had sold or transferred their property were tabled. On the motion of Cr. E. H. Andrews, Crs. J- K. Archer and J. W. Beanland were authorised to sign the list with the Mayor, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., and certify to its correctness: and on the motion of Cr. F. T. Evans the same councillors were appointed to sign any supplementary lists issued before the next general election of councillors. After the adoption of the Town Clerk's report the meeting was declared closed.
