SHII\S TO I)EI'AIM' TO-MORROW FOR AMERICA [THE rP.JT.SS Special Scrvi<-i..j DIJNEDIN. March 11. According to present arrangements the Jacob Ruppcrt and the Bear of Oakland are expected to leave Dunedin on their homeward voyage at noon on Wednesday. The vessels will proceed in company to Easter Island, where they will take shelter while the Bear of Oakland is coaled from the Jacoo Ruppert. They will then sail independent for Panama, where they will meet and set off together on their last stage to New York. Twenty Adelie and 17 Emperor penguins were brought from Little America; but unfortunately 12 of the former have died since their arrival in Dunedin. While the Emperor penguins are quite contented in their stage quarters, the Adelie penguins have fretted, and it would seem that notwithstanding the careful attention of Mr Paul Siple, who has charge of them, there will be difficulty in landing any of the Adelie penguins alive in America.
