The Grand National Assembly of Turkey recently decided that any Turkish woman more than ."0 years old will be eligible for election to the Chamber of Deputies. It ruled also that women more than 22 years of age could vote in the national elections. Thousands of women telegraphed to President Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who had advocated the law permitting women to engage in politics, and enpressed their gratitude to the Ghazi, who gave them political in addition to such social rights as emancipation from harems.
