JEWEL ROBBERY AT MELBOURNE
SHOTS FIRED AT SHOP ASSISTANT MELBOURNE, March 9. After smashing a window of Allan Doggett's jewellery shop in Prahran, the busiest suburban shopping centre in Melbourne, last night, one of two thieves, who stole three trays of diamond rings, valued at £2OO, fired two shots at Sidney Brearley, a shop assistant, wounding him in the foot. The thieves then escaped in a car.
