EPSTEIN'S STATUE OF CHRIST
PROTEST FROM CATHOLIC JOURNAL LONDON, March 8. The "Catholic Herald," commenting on Epstein's new statue of Christ, says: "It is painful to look at this sculpture, in which we only see a distorted reminiscence of the debased, sensuous, and fiat features, not of a man, but of an Asiatic monstrosity. We protest against the insult offered to Christchurch in this work of an artist of geninus."
