ACCIDENTS
BOY CYCLIST INJURED Sidney Wood, aged 15, of 46 McFadden's road, was thrown to the ground in. Cathedral square early on Saturday afternoon when the wheel of the bicycle he was riding apparently caught in a tram-line. A motorcar ran over one of his arms, and he was taken to the Christchurch Hospital by the St. John Free. Ambulance, where it was found that he had a fractured right arm and that he was suffering from shock. FALL FROM MOTOR-CYCLE When the motor-cycle on which I hoy were riding skidded on the Marshland road on Saturday afternoon, J. Tomlin, of Preston's road, and F. Palmer, of Marshland road, were injured. Tomlin, who was riding the machine, suffered head injuries, and Palmer, who was a passenger, received injuries to his shoulder. Both men were taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by the St. John Free Ambulance, and after receiving treatment in the out-patients' department of the hospital, they were taken to their homes. FALL FROM TANK Falling li> feet, from a tank-stand Brian liorgan. aged 11, of Dryden street. Sumner, fractured his right leg. He was laken to Ihe Christchurch Public Hospital by, the - St. .John Free Ambulance. CYCLIST FO( M> HURT Found lying unconscious beside a bicycle on the Main North road, near Stewart's Gully, at 8.30 o'clock last evening, Jean Robertson, aged 23, who resides at 33 Worcester street, was brought to the Christchurch Hospital. Her condition is serious. SPINAL INJURIES Injuries to his spine as the result of a fall were received by W. Simmonds, of (35 Kingsley street, Sydenham, on Saturday evening. Simmonds was taken by the St. John Free Ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital. His condition yesterday was unchanged. FALL FROM STAIRWAY Falling from a stairway landing on Saturday evening, Francis Rookes, of 444 Madras street, received severe injuries to the head and face. He was taken to the Christchurch Public HosI pital by the St. John Free Ambulance. | Yesterday his condition was reported to bo improving. CRICKETER INJURED Painful facial injuries were received by A. Cullen, a member of the Sunnysidc cricket team, on Saturday, when a fast rising ball struck him, breaking his nose. After receiving treatment at the institution, Cullen was taken to his home. SEAMAN'S DEATH [VRBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, March 9. The Union Steam Ship Company has been advised by radio that while the Makura was between Papeete and San Francisco, J. Bickerton, an ordinary seaman, met with a fatal accident, j Bickerton belonged to Auckland, and had served on coastal ships.
