WEDDING
PERKINS—NEWTON The marriage was celebrated recently at the Holy Trinity Church, Avonside, of Dorothy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. G. Newton, of Kaikoura, and formerly of Christchurch, to Henry, eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. J. Perkins, Melbourne. The Rev. W. J. Hands performed the ceremony, and Mr Lilley was organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of crepe marocain, made with a square neckline, and lonjj sleeves fitted to form points over the hands. Her embroidered tulle veil, worn well back on the head, was held in place with a spray of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of hothouse flowers. Miss Rene Philpott, as bridesmaid, was wearing a pink marocain frock trimmed with silver, the neckline being finished with a diamante clasp. Her floral bandeau toned with the flowers in her bouquet. Mr Sambrook was best man. The guests were received at Melody Lane by the bride's step-mother. Her frock was of brown crepe marocain, patterned in silver and red tonings, and she carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. The bride travelled in a pink silk marocain ensemble and a hat to tone.
