CHILDREN ON BICYCLE CARRIERS

TO THB EDITOR 01 THE PRBSS. Sir,—As a resident of Christchurch for the last two years, I have on numerous occasions observed the iniquitous practice of mothers Biding bicycles with small children sometimes double-banked on carriers over the back wheel, sometimes carried in front of the bicycles. Only this morning one woman passed me going east along Worcester street, with two small children behind her. One of them appeared to be in a very precarious position with her legs extended. I hope that this will bring forth some correspondence and tend to effect some reform, in what I consider a very reprehensible and dangerous practice.—Yours, etc., A.J.B. March 8, 1935.
