MAN MISSING
I'KAJJS FOR HIS SAFETY Grave concern is felt in Rcdcliffs J'ir the safety of Mr Alfred James Trcddanicic, recently in the employ of the Forestry Department, Hanmcr, who came from lianmer on Wednesday and visited an old friend. Mrs Donovan, of MS Main road, Rcdcliffs, calling at her residence in the evening. Ho was missed from his bed in the sunporch early on Thursday morning, and Constable Johns, oi Sumner, was communicated with. From enquiries made yesterday, it ;:ppcaiv that he left Mrs Donovan's house about 5.30 yesterday morning and made his way to the waterfront. Appearances point to his having entered the water from one of the jetties between Bay View road and Estuary road. There is now very little doubt that he was drowned about that time, when the tide was flowing in at nearly lull Hood. Yesterday exhaustive search was made of the estuary in the vicnity, but. no traces of the missing man were found.
