TIMARU T.C.

TO-MORROW'S PROGRAMME A good of interest is being shown in the Timaru Trotting Club's autumn meeting, which will be held on the Washdyke racecourse to-mor-row. The fields are of good size without being unwieldy and all i- favour of the best class of racing. The Timaru Cup promises to be an especially fine race contested by a number of horses that have shown good form during the last few months, and in view of the meeting at Addington next month interest will centre in the performances of these horses. The day's programme is as follows: KINOSDOWX 1 HANDICAP (in harness), o£ 100 soys. timin 4-lsec class. Olio mile and a half. Jl> At the New Brighton meeting last month Travis Pringle, for one in his class, gave an exceptionally good exhibition of trotting, and with a mile and a half record of 3mm 31sec he should again race well from a 3min 43sec mark. Esther, who acted as runner-up to Travis Pringle in 3min 34sec, is again handily placed on 3min 44sec and, a quick beginner, she will be prominent throughout. The finish may be confined to Travis Pringle, Esther, and Carl. TUIAD HANDICAP 0» barnes-), of KM) sovs . 4iniii Usee rla a s. One mile anu live lurlonys. Of the limit horses Dual has probably the best form to recommend her, but Wee Wrack lias previously shown speed, and Wheat Pool is a promising young pacer. Of tin: handicapped horses Sea Trail should beat Snowy do Oro and Vanity Fair. In what'mav prove a very interesting race the prospects of Wee Wrack, Dual, and Sea Trail may be favoured. TXMAHIJ CU." On 36 yards behind he is on a mark that should suit him, and. u good slaver, he will not be troubled by the distance. Klvo did not nice well at Forbury Park, but this was not her true form, and a big improvement may be expected. She is plainly a mare of class. Todd I.on/.ia litis proved himself one of the best unhoppled trotters in the Dominion, and he won on this course in January. Of the limit horses Bracken appears the most, likely 1o win. especially after her good exhibition at Wellington last Saturday. In what appears a very open race the chances of Key Spec. Bracken, and Klvo read the best. t' MIJI.I K lIANI'ICAI' fin lianii'-O, of IK) mjv- •.•linn lll.ot ela.--. ' CARTERTON, March 7. r At a meeting last evening, the stew- . ards of the Wairarapa Trotting Club j decided, after a long discussion in com- . mittee, not to hold the March meeting. This decision was carried by nine • votes to seven, the majority consider- ' ing it would be better to conserve ; funds until the time came when a '. meeting could be run to show a profit. ; As the club races two days and has used one already, financial members : will be circularised that they can se- ' cure a rebate of half their subscrip- . tions. General regret is 'expressed here that the meeting will not be held.
