BRITISH TREASURY RETURNS
INCOME TAX COLLECTIONS (RIIITISH OFFICIAL WII'.KLK.jS.) (Received March 6, 7.30 p.m.) RUGBY, March 5. With four weeks to run before the end of the financial year, the latest Treasury returns show that ordinary revenue at March 2 amounted to £641,598,389 v which is about £21,419,000 more than last week's figures. The estimate for the year is £706,520.000. At the corresponding date last year ordinary revenue was £655.015,624. Income tax collected last week amounted to £14,073,000, compared with £ 12,821.00!) in the previous week, bringing the total so far collected to £202.573,000. compared with. £201,317,000 on the corresponding date last year. The budget estimate is for £219.500,000 The total ordinary expenditure to last Saturday was £653.099.98?. compared with £ 63fi.23G.U79 at Mnrch 3, 1934. The estimate for the year is £7l 1,202,000.
