VICTORIA CLUB'S MEETING \ —— SYNAGOGUE WINS ELMS HANDICAP (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH— COPYRIGHT.) (Received March G, 8.15 p.m.) MELBOURNE, March 6. Tlio autumn meeting of the Victoria Racing Club was continued to-day. Synagogue was always -well placed in tlio Kims Handicap, and had a comfortable win. llk has bad two Marts for a deadheat and an outright win since he whs purchased by Mr J. A. Phillips. Capris led to the straight and then tired, while Queen Helen and Journey's End were never dangerous. Carnarvon made amends for his failure in the Sires' Produce Stakes by winning tho tirst division of the Gibson Carmicliael Stakes. I'alfrcsco ran a game race, while Coty.s finished fast after a slow beginning. The winner is a stablemate of Count Ito, and is a brother to the recent Caulfield winner, Kastern Knight. Lady Primrose finished brilliantly on the rails in the second division of the Gibson Carmicliael Stakes. She is trained by G. Jones for j\lr W. R. Kemball, and it was her third win of the season.
Marabou, Cotys, and Don Miguel, minor place-betters ir* the first three races, are nil trniiied by L. Robertson.
PacloJus was always xiromincnt in the Autumn Steeplechase, and had a comfortable win. He is rnced by Mr L. K. ft. Mackinnon, the chairman of the Victoria Racing Club.
Dark Sky atoned for his failure iu the Newmarket with a narrow victory in the Leonard Handicap, in which he finished veil to beat fireat Legend in the last few strides. Sir John, after being badly placed ejirly, wjjs a p.iod third. Arachno failed, after having every chance. Hull Mark made amends for his defeat ou Saturday with a fast finish in the King's i'late. IJis victory was unpopular uith a section of the crowd. Rogilla made the pace and improved on Saturday's form. Topical had every show. King March made an improved effort. Hall .Mark won the Mime event laM year, while his trainer, •L Holt, also won the race with Second Wind. Heroic, and Kurvthmic. Whit trained by the former New Zealander, George Price, had a well deserved win in the River Handicap, in wlii'h he finished fast. Alaric had every show. Koyal Rest was unlucky.
