PIGEON FLYING

EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB ThtT East Christchurch Flying Pigeon Club flew a race from Parnassus recently. Good conditions prevailed through the race, and favourable times were recorded. The winner, owned by Mr R. Moore, flew the 76 miles 718 yards in 2hr lOmin 7sec. The results were:— Yds. a min. R. Mooro's Persian Lady . . 103;! A. Green's Taxpayer .. 1027 G. Crooke's Dayard . . 977 T. Nicholson's Straight Flight . . 96:> B. Campbell's Red Ace . . 926 W. Henry's Streamline . . 922 J. H. Beale's Thorpe Duchess . . 717 The club also flew a race from Oamaru. The birds experienced good conditions throughout the race, and favourable time* were recorded. The winner, owned by L. 1'". Rolton, llew the 137 miles 413 yards in 3hr 42min 20sec.
