LODGE MEETING
N.G. Bro. R. McNae presided over a fair attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge, M.U.J.0.0.F., which was held on Monday evening. The main business for the attention of the members was the discussion of the agenda paper for the annual district conference. The lodge delegates to the conference found that some of the remits were of a contentious nature and discussions on these caused some strenuous arguments. The delegates will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, March 13, further to discuss the agenda paper. As Bro. McNae was found to be ineligible for election as a delegate to the conference, P.G. Bro. B. M. Sharp was elected in his place. A long and detailed report was received from the hall committee which stated that the lodge premises were urgently in need of repairs and renovations, and it was decided that the committee be instructed to call tenders for the work as suggested in the report. The Noble Grand welcomed to the meeting P.G. Bro. J. Robertson (Loyal Pride of Kaitangata Lodge, Otago district). Bro. Robertson is an enthusiastic juvenile worker, and was responsible for the formation of the Greymouth Juvenile Lodge. This lodge commenced only a year ago with 11 members. At a very recent meeting, the fifty-fifth member was initiated. An invitation to attend the Loyal Kaiapoi Lodge on Tuesday, March 12, was accepted.
