—<> — The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) will return to Wellington from Canterbury by the steamer express this evening. Mr C. S. Thomas has returned from the West Coast. The Rev. Canon Perry, vicar of St. Michael's, left last night to conduct a mission at Christ Church, St. Laurence, Sydney. He expects to return before the end of the month. Mr J. H. S. Angus, of Sydney, who has been spending some weeks in New Zealand on holiday, left Christchurch last night for Wellington. He will leave to-day for Sydney. Mr H. A. Truman who has been borough engineer at Taihape for the last five years, has accepted a position on the engineering staff of the municipality of Suva, ,and will leave New Zealand by the Aorangi on April 2. Mr Truman is a former pupil of the Christchurch Boys' High School. Dr. A. F. Ritchie Crawford, of Invercargill, was last night elected president of the National Rifle Association, at the annual meeting of members held at Wellington. He succeeds Colonel F. B. Creswell, who announced his retirement from that office.—Press Association. Mr J. W. Beanland, chairnu of the works committee of the Christchurch City Council returned on Sunday from Auckland. The Mayor of Christchurch, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., left for Wellington last evening. Mr A. E. Phillips was unanimously elected a life member of the Linwood Football Club at the annual meeting of the club last evening.
