PICNICS
TRAMWAY SOCIAL CLUB OUTING TO KICCARTON RACECOURSE Approximately 600 persons attended the Tramway Social Club's picnic, which was held at the Riocarton Racecourse over the week-end in beautiful weather. The outing was enjoyed by all. During the day there were lucky spot competitions, lucky seats, and a treasure hunt for the children. Icecream and sweets were issued to the boys and girls, and more than 80 children under two years of age received a toy. A sports programme was run off during the afternoon, and the prizes were presented by Mr J. Mathison. Tho results of the races were as follows: — CHILDREN'S RACES Children under three—M. Lee I, I'. BRISCOE AND COMPANY, LIMITED The naff of Mestrs Britcoe and Company, Ltd., had a beautiful day for their annual picnic, which was held at Leithfield beach on Saturday. WOODEND SCHOOL The annual picnic of the Woodend School was held at Ashley Gorge, and was very largely attended by children, parents, and friends. Four large buses and a number of private cars veto required for transport.
