TRAIN MYSTERY

MAN'S SEVERED LEGS FOUND LONDON, March 1. The mystery of the legs in a train is the latest murder problem confronting the police, a man's legs, skilfully severed at the knee, having been discovered in a brown paper parcel under the seat of a suburban train at Waterloo on February 25. Police activity during the week resulted, after examination at hospitals and mortuaries, in an announcement to-day that there were no grounds for suspecting a grim hoax, the only alternative to a murder. ' A description of the possible appearance of the victim, as suggested by a medical examination of the legs, is that he was aged between 20 and 30, about sft Sin in height and slim, and possibly a dancer, as the toes were contracted because of tight-fitting shoes.
