MAGISTRATE'S COURT
SATURDAY (Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.j DRUNKENNESS AND ASSAULT Lawrence Joseph Kiesanowski (Mr C. E. Purchase) pleaded guilty to charges of being found drunk, and assaulting Join; Thomas Cane on March 1. He was convicted and discharged on each count, on condition that he took out a prohibition order. CHILDREN'S COURT (Before Mr H. P. Lawry. S.M.. and Mrs T. Green, J.P.) FORBIDDEN TO RIDE BICYCLE A boy, aged 16 years, was forbidden to ride his bicycle for a month, while a charge of cycling at night without a light was adjourned. This was tha second charge of this kind to be brought against him within a short period. RIDING WITHOUT LIGHT For riding bicycles at night without lights another boy, aged 16 years, was fined ss; two others, aged 15 years,
were each lined Is. and a fourth, aged 14 years, was lined 6d. For cycling on a footpath, a boy aged 13 years was lined ss. BICYCLES STOLEN "1 anl {•oinf* yon to an industrial school; this is not the first lime you have been charged with stealing a bicycle," said the Magistrate to a boy of 14 : '. years. The boy was committed fo the care of the Superintendent of Child Welfare. For stealing a bicycle, his first, offence, a boy aged 10 years, was placed under the supervision of the Child Welfare Officer for 12 months. THEFT OF MONEY Two young boys admitted the theft of money totalling £lO 15s. The elder, aged 13 years, who was already a ward of the State, was formally admonished and discharged, and the younger, aged J2 years, was committed to the care of the Superintendent of Child Welfare.
