BRIGHTON CLUB Tim Brighton Power Boat Club held tho eighth raeo of. tho season over tho ('binary course from Pleasant Point jetty to (ho !r111o(1 (luring the week-end. The raco was hold under a healed handicap, all boats starting level. The winner was Verona (It. -Mason), 12 seconds ahead of Ili-Ho (H. D. Knowlus), Shooting Slur (B. Mxon) was third, <TJ seconds behind Ili-Ho. On March lath Ilui Canterbury Yacht and 'Power Boat Association will hold un annual rcjjatta nt RedelilTs, including rowing, t'ailintC, "'"I power hunt events. Tho course will he on the estuary near l'Msherniun 's I'oint,' It is hoped to revive i-aeinj; on this course, as it is several years since races were held there. The course is the same as that used in 18110. The New Brighton Power Boat Club will hold an ocean race for the Captain Owles' trophy on March 2{i. The course will lie from the t.ytteltun Moles to the Brighton Pier.
