LAWS FOR THE SAAR
* ARYAN CLAUSE WILL NOT APPLY (Received March 1, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 1. The Berlin correspondent of "The Times" says that 40 laws have been promulgated for the Saar, reflecting the most important German changes of the last two years. The Aryan clause will not at present apply. Saarlandei's must not suffer on account of language, race, or religion. HITLER GRANTS AMNESTY BERLIN, February 28. Herr Hitler has granted an amnesty to all Saar inhabitants who are sentenced to a year's imprisonment or less for whatever offence. TRANSFER OF CONTROL SAARBRUCKEN, February 28. Mr Geoffrey Knox (chairman of the Saar Governing Commission) formally handed over the Saar to
Baron Aloisi, of the League of Nations, who to-morrow will complete the transfer to Germany. Mr Knox will leave for Paris to-night. GRANT FOR RELIEF (Received March 1, 11 p.m.) LONDON, March 1.
