WORK ON LEWIS PASS ROAD
INSPECTION TO BE MADE TO-DAY A party of members of the Canterbury Progress League's Highways Committee will leave Christchurch this morning to inspect the progress of the work on the Lewis Pass road. The inspection will occupy a whole day, and the party will return this evening. Those who will make the inspection are: Messrs F. Langbein, District Public Works Engineer; J. E. Strachan, chairman of the highways committee of the league; F. W. Johnston, president of the league; Professor A. H. Tocker Messrs A. E. Langdale-Hunt, George Maginness, C. E. Cross, L. Wilson, chairman of the roads committee of the Automobile Association, Canterbury; and P. R. Climie, secretary to the league. Mr E. P. H. Burbury (North Canterbury) and Mr Ledger, president of the Nelson Provincial Progress League, will join the party on the route.
