JAPANESE WHALING EXPEDITION
* SUCCESSFUL TRIP TO ANTARCTIC FREMANTLE, February 28. Japanese whaling vessels which have been on an experimental expedition to the Antardic called here for supplies on the homeward journey. Members of the expedition report the trip to have been so satisfactory that a larger fleet will operate next season. Several Norwegians accompanied the experimental expedition which so benefited from their advice that it is intended th;it next season's crew will be purely Japanese. TRAM ACCIDENT IN SYDNEY > ONE MAN KILLED SYDNEY, February 28. One man was killed and six passengers injured in a tram accident in the city this morning. One tram had jumped the points and a second tram crashed into it with terrific force.
The passengers were hurled in all directions and showered by splinters of woodwork and glass. Several women fainted. The man who was killed was precipitated from his seat between the two trams.
